New (to me at least) JPEG ‘repair’ tool, Tenorshare 4DDiG.
So I test it against files I know to be repairable. Success!, it says, go buy license.
Let’s see: Compare size original files vs. what it repaired. Can’t be right. I see option ‘view logs’, *click*. Now we see what it did, it didn’t repair shit, it extracts tiny thumbs which explains huge difference in combined file sizes.
So unsuspecting buyer will buy to find out he’s stuck with some useless tiny files. Because to notice all you’ll get are thumbnails you really have to pay attention.
I call that borderline scam unless they have a very generous refund policy.
