Have a data recovery or hard disk (internal, USB, SDD, SD Card etc.) related question? Feel free to contact me! My goal is for you to be able to access your data again. Even if that means that I have to recommend another product or service.

I have years of experience and worked with many different products. I understand how data is organized on a disk and know the strengths and weaknesses of many of the available file recovery solutions.

What I need to help you:

If you need my help, try to be thorough when describing the issue at hand but don’t overdo it. Try describe what you see and when you include (error) messages, try to include them in verbatim. I need as much as possible observations and facts rather than interpretations. If a specific action preceded the data loss then please describe that even if it appears irrelevant.

If you have no idea what to do then it’s best to do as little as possible.

If you can not access and entire disk or volume a screenshot of Disk Management may be helpful. If you open Disk Management and it prompts you do do something (like initializing a disk), then cancel that!

Run Disk Management

The easiest way of launching Disk Management in Windows 10 is from Desktop. Right click on Start Menu (or press Windows+X hotkey) and then select “Disk Management”.

Create a Screen shot

Pressing both the Windows and Print Screen key at the same time will capture the entire screen. This image will automatically be saved to a Screenshot folder inside of the Pictures library.
